Reflections on Event Organization

May 7th, 2016
We ran an event at Vayalikaval on May 7th 2016. It was to build a mud bench and a word game. we, vayalikaval group: Yelumalai,Vijayan, Krishna,Manju, Venkatesh and my self had a plan on what we wanted to do, how we wanted to divide ourselves into groups, so that we could lead others. We wanted to play a game, in the beginning that which will help everyone to introduce themselves. We explained our plan about how the day would go.
The group divided into 2 smaller groups as a mix of girls and boys. The work started, the bench making had a process about how to make a bench. But the painting could have had some more planning on what we wanted to paint.
After finishing the morning section, we had lunch. when we had arranged the food/cooking for the event, Yelumalai and me had a thought that, the food of 8kgs is need for 35 to 40 people. but the food which was going to cooked, was very much more than the amount of food needed. also they were less number of people than our expectation.after and during the event I feel, I learnt about how to manage to get the materials for cooking, the payments also the amount of food to be cooked, for particular number of people.

at the end of the day, when everyone shared their thoughts in the group, there was though of working everyone together, in a group helped to finish the work. I think the event went well, with all fun also the work done. Moreover it was an experience to learn even from tinier things like, the cleaning, material manipulating also from organizing for the event.

Thank you
